Update Banking Account

* If there are any changes to your legal name or business entity, Clearent will want you to reapply for payment with your new Legal and banking information for IRS reporting purposes.

Once you have a login for Compass, in addition to viewing your deposits, you can also make updates to your account where your deposits land. This is handy if you get a new bank account, or simply want to change it! Here's how 👇

  1. From your Compass account, click on "Account Settings" at the bottom of the lefthand sidebar menu and then select "Bank Account Settings"

  2. Next, click on the green "Edit All" button to start the bank change process

  3. Click on "Remove," and you'll be able to select "Add New Bank Account"

  4. Fill out all the appropriate fields with your new banking information, and don't forget to select all three boxes at the bottom for Deposits, Fees, and Chargebacks.

  5. Now it's time to upload a copy of your new banking information.

*As a heads up, Clearent will only accept pre-printed voided business checks or a DDA (Demand Deposit Account) Bank Letter. If you don't have pre-printed checks, you can reach out to your bank and ask them to draft up a DDA Bank Letter on bank letterhead, stating the full routing number, full account number, and signed by a banking representative.

Once you're finished filling out all the fields and uploading a copy of your new banking information, you can then click on the green "Submit" button at the top left of the page.

Now that you've submitted the bank change request, you'll see that your request is "pending," and you'll receive two automated email notifications from Clearent. The first notification will be that they've received your request, and the second notification will be when the change has been approved. Typically the bank change process will take about 3-5 days to complete, and the funds will continue to go into your old bank account until it's been approved and updated on Clearent's end.

As a heads up, Clearent may be reaching out via phone to make sure that you're authorizing this request to your deposit info. If Clearent has any questions during this process, they'll send you and email so keep your eyes out for that so it doesn't slow down the process.

Chargeback Information

Click on the chargeback tab to view which client and transaction are being disputed by your client's bank. For more information on what to do when you receive a chargeback check here.
