Congratulations on all the money you're going to save with Schedulicity Pay! 🎉 Now that you're done with your happy dance, there are a few things you'll want to know before you get your card reader in the mail.
Out of the gate... you don't have to wait for our card reader to take advantage of your brand new rates! To process credit cards while you're waiting for your card reader, you can key in a client's payment info at checkout, or you can save their payment method. Even with our keyed-in rates, they're pretty darn low: 2.85% + 25¢ per transaction! Before you know it, you'll have your card reader and you'll be ready to take advantage of 1.99% + 10¢ at the register.
You can also go ahead and set up your services/classes/workshops to require prepayment, a deposit, or save payment info to hold the appointment when clients book, which is a super easy way to get that info securely stored on file, as it will automatically be added to client profiles when they book. 🙌
What if I was with Square or Stripe before?
If you've been connected with Square or Stripe using our Payment Plugin, the first thing that will happen once you're approved for Schedulicity Pay is you'll be automatically disconnected from your Square or Stripe account, and Schedulicity Pay will automatically be enabled. With this, any cards previously on file with Square or Stripe will no longer display in Schedulicity, as they are a separate processor.
Rest assured, if you need to charge a client whose payment method is stored within Square or Stripe, you can totally go to your Square or Stripe account directly to charge them there. Moving forward, you can start collecting new payment info as clients book appointments, or enter them with clients directly.
Similarly, if you're using our Auto-Billing feature with Square or Stripe, new payment info will need to be added to client profiles for that as well. Good news is clients will be notified by email to update their payment info if an auto-billing charge fails to go through, though you may also want to check the Auto-Billing report to see the status of everyone's billing. You could then reach out to them directly via email to let them know you've switched payment processors. 👍
You'll also want to make sure you're no longer checking your Stripe account for deposits or using your Square hardware to process payments, since they are no longer associated with your Schedulicity account.
